The Summer Wind-Down! Fall Previews!

Our classes are filling up so fast – it just didn’t make sense to post our lastest newsletter til now!

Coming up this Saturday is our Syrian Flatbread  – Making Manikish Workshop led by Syrian Chef, Manal!    Spoiler:  It’s already sold out!  But we are mentioning it because you’ll want to be in on the next one!  Watch for it in future posts!

But there’s still time to register for the last remaining slots for the Pretzels & Mustard (and Beer, of course) Workshop!  Coming up this weekend, Saturday, August 11 at 3:00.  Learn how to make those soft German-Style Pretzels along with authentic Dijon Mustard.  Then enjoy tasting your creations with a variety of mustards and beers from our partner, Second Self.  And extra pretzels to take home too.  More here and how to register:  A New Twist on Pretzels.


The last of the Summer Pies & Tarts class is Thursday evening, August 23 at 6:00 pm.  We’ll be baking with local and seasonal fruits – peaches, blueberries, and whatever else GA will provide us at the time!  Since we’re hanging out in the evening let’s make this a BYOB!  Details here and to register:  Summer Pies & Tarts.


Because you can never have too many jars of luscious organic summer tomatoes in your pantry year-round  – our annual Tomato Can-A-Thon. Lots of fun and lots of jars to be made.  Then you’ll decide how many jars you want  to take home as we make up batches together.  Saturday, August 25 at 10:00 am.  Register here:  Tomato Can-A-Thon.


If you haven’t met Terran Lewis of Herb ‘n Eden in our  Soap Making Workshop, you’ve missed a treat!  She is vibrant, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about teaching you the basics of soap making.  Terran brings an array of essential oils and fragrances with optional additives like oatmeal, lavender, calendula and so many others.  Go home with two pounds (yes!) of your just made gorgeous, fragrant, natural soap to cut into bars or even smaller guest soaps!  To register: Soap Making Workshop.  


Biscuits + Jam?  Could it get any better than that!  Wherever biscuits originated from, we know for certain they are a Southern staple.  Join Chef Sarah Dodge to perfect your biscuits and enjoy with your just-made fruit jam.  Two choices:  Enjoy on Thursday evening, Augsut 30 at 6 pm (a BYOB event).  Or bring your friends for Labor Day Weekend breakfast on Saturday, September 1 at 10:00 am.  Register for either here:  Biscuits + Jam.

Are you a fan of the savory, sweet, spicy flavor of Thai curry dishes?  Don’t know how to start your own?  Join Chef Mercedes Melendez and learn the basics by making up three kinds of Thai Curry Pastes:  Red, Yellow and Green.  Then you’ll be off onto making your own luscious curry dishes including  soups, stir fries, even rice.  Saturday, September 8 at 3:30.  More here and to register:  Thai Curry Pastes.

Pasta 101…and 2,3,4 returns under the guiding hands of talented Chef David DiCorpo.  Learn all manner of pastas including hand-cut, extruded, and so many more.  Then enjoy with freshly made sauces.  Plenty to take home too!  Sunday, September 9 at 1:00 pm.  Pasta 101…and 2,3,4.



Our Summer canning finale finds us preserving those plentiful peppers and more in our Peppers & Pickles workshop.  Learn how and can up Pepper Jelly, Pickled Peppers and a variety of veggies in Giardinieria.  How to warm your tummies all winter long!
