Now that The Learning Kitchen is up and running, we are ready to add both Volunteers & Interns. This is a unique Kitchen, offering classes in the “Lost Arts” such as Canning, Pickling, Fermenting, Bread Baking, Cheese & Butter Making, Seasonal Cooking Classes, and more. We are unique to the South – there is no other such facility offering these kinds of classes.
Here’s the Deal:
We are looking for volunteers that will help during our classes. This will include setting up, prepping food (if needed), assisting the Instructor or Chef, helping with clean-up. Also potential for food production training and assistance as available. Volunteers will receive the complete packet that class participants receive (such as recipes, instructions, etc.) and also be eligible to take free classes. We are looking for interns to help with Mass Communications/Social Media & other promotional opportunities, who are interested and/or experienced in the Food Industry. Commitment must be for 5 months for any of the Fall, Spring or Summer periods. Must be available for at least 10 hours per week (flexible schedule available, with some hours possible online away from Kitchen). Small stipend to accepted intern, plus eligible for free classes. We will provide information for college/school certification is desired.
