Good News and Good News!

 In General

We have some Good News to share! The Learning Kitchen has found its new owner — Beth Lord.   Beth and I have known one another for years. I taught at her shop/kitchen in Virginia Highlands years back so Beth is not new to the whole workshops/ kitchen world, and she is excited to bring new energy to the next chapter of The Learning Kitchen.

And the other Good News:   Tom and I aren’t going anywhere!   With Beth taking over the day-to-day operations, we look forward to continuing our regular classes and workshops;  and this will allow us to come up with some new ideas as well!

About Beth:   Beth recently started a catering company called The Manzana Tree.  Beth’s vision for The Manzana Tree goes hand in hand with the mission I’ve held for The Kitchen.

In her own words:  “I am a creator and builder. I am happiest when I am working with my hands and sharing my talents with others. My two greatest teachers are nature and community. I have a love of just about everything domestic and a passion for simple design and clean food. Building on what Lyn has so lovingly created, The Learning Kitchen Vol. 2  will offer new workshops, events and programming for kids. A new website and a brighter physical space are just around the corner. Plus expanded rosters of classes, collaborators, and events.  I hope you will join me in our new kitchen.”

The transition to new ownership will be slow and steady. Beth and I will be working together through the remainder of the year while we wrap things up and put new processes and procedures in place.
