Chicomecóatl’s Maricela Vega, an Atlanta Magazine Chef to Watch, will be in the Kitchen making authentic, real-deal tamales – with a side of Mezcal.
When joining our cooking series at The Learning Kitchen, you will have an opportunity to learn how and then prepare a mini Mexican inspired “treat yourself” meal. And follow with more knowledge on how to make tamale dough, filling, salsa, and agua fresca. We will talk about the basics of the dishes, how to make them yours and locally, as well as background information regarding the Mezcal for the evening (each class may differ in the variety and purveyors of Mezcal) . And we will finish by enjoying our newly made meal. This is the perfect season to try our hands at making some tasty treats to share with your loved ones.
